Obituary

 

Gary Lance Rose, (71), passed away June 3, 2020 at home. He was the husband of Cheryl Reitz Rose. They shared 46 years of marriage together.

 

Gary was born in Brevard, North Carolina on September 27, 1948. He was the son of Glen and Helen Cain.  He attended Houston Baptist University. He was employed at Tuboscope, an oil field pipe inspection company in Houston, Texas and worked as an electronic technician from 1973 until retirement in 2007. He also worked at BAE for a couple of years during retirement as a technical writer for the MRap (Humvee) vehicles going to the Middle East for the US Military.

 

He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Columbus, Texas. He enjoyed photography, his chickens, building electronic things, auto mechanics, and just “fixing” things. He will be remembered for his trust in God and compassion for others in need.

 

He is survived by his wife, Cheryl Reitz Rose, his mother Helen Cain and his sister, Marjorie R. Willingham. He was predeceased by his father Glen T. Cain, his biological parents Hardy Obie Rose and Reba McCall, and brothers, Eugene Baxter Rose and Howard Vance Rose.

 

Due to travel limitations and the covid outbreak, a memorial service will be held at a later time.

 

Memorial donations, in lieu of flowers, may be made to a GoFundMe account to help with the recent medical bills and loss of income.
